The Doctor of Christian Counseling (Disciple Track)
The Doctor of Christian Counseling (Disciple Track) at Wellspring Christian Institute represents the highest level of academic and spiritual formation within our Christian counseling programs. Designed for experienced counselors, ministry leaders, pastors, educators, coaches, and practitioners, this advanced doctoral degree equips students to become servant leaders who faithfully disciple others while making a lasting impact in their churches, ministries, communities, and spheres of influence.
More than an academic qualification, the Disciple Track is a journey of deeper discipleship. It is designed for men and women who desire to grow in wisdom, spiritual maturity, and biblical understanding while refining their ability to counsel, teach, lead, and minister with excellence. Students are challenged to become lifelong learners whose lives reflect the character, compassion, and truth of Jesus Christ.
Building upon advanced counseling principles, the program explores the deeper dimensions of human development, emotional healing, spiritual formation, leadership, research, and transformational care. Students engage in doctoral-level study, critical thinking, original research, and practical ministry applications while developing a comprehensive understanding of how biblical truth, counseling theory, and the work of the Holy Spirit intersect to bring healing, restoration, and lasting transformation.
At the heart of the Disciple Track is the conviction that every person is fearfully and wonderfully created in the image of God and called to live in the fullness of His purpose. Students learn to address complex emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges while helping others discover their identity in Christ and walk in greater freedom, healing, and spiritual wholeness.
Through advanced case studies, practical ministry experiences, and doctoral research, students develop the expertise to minister effectively to individuals facing trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown, life transitions, and other significant challenges. Particular emphasis is placed on integrating biblical wisdom, sound counseling practices, spiritual discernment, and compassionate care in every aspect of ministry.
The Doctor of Christian Counseling (Disciple Track) is designed not only to develop exceptional Christian counselors but also to cultivate disciple-makers, educators, authors, researchers, mentors, and ministry leaders who will influence future generations through biblical truth and Christ-centered leadership.
